The salmonella outbreak that apparently began in May, seems to continue, warned the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of USA. The outbreak began several weeks before the July introduction of new federal safety rules aimed at reducing the risk of salmonella in eggs, reported The New York Times.

In a press conference Thursday afternoon, federal health officials said they had received nearly 2,000 reports of salmonella poisoning between May and July. But officials could not specify how many of these cases were related to the removal of eggs.

However, you can expect more cases of salmonella poisoning due to infected eggs, said Dr. Christopher R. Braden, acting director of the Division of Foodborne Diseases, Water and Environment of the CDC.

Figures updated

According to state health authorities, eggs contaminated with salmonella have sickened at least 266 people in California, 28 in Colorado and seven in Minnesota. Have also reported suspected cases in Arizona, Illinois, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin, reported Associated Press.

The recall includes whole eggs packed between May 16 and 13 August. They come in boxes containing six to 18 eggs which are marked with the numbers of plant P-1026, P-1413 and P-1946. It should return the eggs, and receive a refund.

The FDA advised consumers:

Getting rid of the eggs removed, or returned to stores for a refund.

Consult a physician if you feel sick after eating the eggs removed.

Always store eggs in the fridge.

Discard cracked or dirty eggs.

Wash hands and utensils and preparation surfaces with soap and water after contact with raw eggs.

Cook eggs until both the white and yolk are firm, and eat them quickly after cooking.

The agency also warned consumers not to keep the eggs warm or at room temperature for more than two hours, and not eating raw eggs or restaurant dishes made with raw eggs, undercooked or unpasteurized milk.

You should also avoid eating undercooked eggs, especially children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, or diseases that cause weakness, the agency said.

This drink is supposed to be a healthy alternative for those who prefer to avoid drinks, but new research warns that too much iced tea can cause the formation of gallstones or kidney stones.

But what has that delicious and refreshing drink that damages our health? It turns out that the tea has high concentrations of oxalate, a chemical that contributes to the formation of kidney stones. And while the hot tea also has the same substance, it is rare that drink large amounts of it.

Did you know?
The kidney stones affect the urinary tract of about 10% of the U.S. population.

Crystals / stones / rocks are formed from mineral and salt and often can leave the body along with urine painlessly. But sometimes, these stones can grow too much and stay in the small tubes that drain urine from the kidneys to the bladder.

Men are four times more likely to develop these painful stones than women, and the risk increases in those who are over 40 years.

Also, women who are past menopause who have low estrogen levels or whose ovaries have been removed are likely to develop kidney stones.

A common cause of kidney stones is dehydration and lack of fluids. In combination with a high consumption of iced tea, increases the risk of disorder.

The United States consumes more than 2 billion gallons of iced tea a year, according to the Tea Association of the USA The drink is so popular because people think it is healthier than a soda or beer.

Other foods high in oxalate include spinach, chocolate and nuts.

Food and drinks rich in calcium will help your body reduce the amount of oxalate absorbed by your body. >> Consume calcium to live longer

It is true that in hot weather you should drink plenty of extra fluids to stay hydrated, but simple water fall you better than your bottles of iced tea.

Many of these are good ideas but some are actually misleading and can be quite difficult to discover what is the best way to carry out a healthy. healthy lifestyle-some tips that can help you be healthy.

Eat healthy

It is important to eat healthy foods if you want to be healthy. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA, its acronym in English) presented a table of recommended foods that should be respected. Your daily diet should include a limited consumption of fats, plus two servings of proteins, three carbohydrates, three or four of milk, and between five and seven of fruits and vegetables.

Many people have trouble remembering all this and end up eating the wrong things. Then, suffer from health problems, gain weight and lack of energy. So, you need to commit to eating only healthy foods to be healthy and get the results you want with respect to how you feel and how you look.

Exercise yourself

To be healthy, you need to burn calories and the only really effective way to do that is still active. You have to exercise for at least thirty minutes, three times a week. The kind of exercise does not really matter as long as your heart rate increases as your body moves. In fact, walking is one of best ways to exercise and anyone can do it without any need for special equipment or a gym membership expensive.

Get enough sleep

When you sleep, your body is replenished and renewed. To accomplish this, and therefore function properly, you need at least seven to nine hours of sleep per night. Many people have trouble sleeping, suffer from insomnia, sleep or not enough for family demands, busy work days and other issues. But you have to sleep on time regularly to prevent diseases and have a healthy lifestyle.

Drink water

Two thirds of the human body are composed of water, which means that, for the muscles and cells to function properly, you need a constant supply of fresh water. The liver and kidneys depend on water for impurities, such as the toxins we eat with the food we eat, air we breathe and consume drugs, may be eliminated. To stay healthy, you should drink eight or more glasses of water per day.

Get support

Humans need each other. Sometimes we forget that we are part of a larger system of human. We stress in our daily lives and we shut ourselves in our negative feelings. Do not deal with these feelings in a healthy way. For many people, that means turning to alcohol or drugs as a way to escape the negative feelings that are so overwhelming.

But just as you need to nourish your body with healthy foods, you need to feed your soul. You can do this by getting the support of the people around you and getting your breath. Positive emotions help you lead a healthy life. Nobody wants to have diseases and we all want good health. The tips above will help you improve your health and your family.

Some people get confused thinking that the whole grain is only a good source of fiber. However, in addition to using fiber, eating whole grains you get more benefits than if you ate only fiber.

What makes grain cereal a complete package of health benefits is the combination of all components working together, rather than the fiber itself.

Different studies claim that the components of whole grain, beyond dietary fiber can help to take care of the weight, as explained by Mary Carmen Mondragón, “is scientifically proven that people who include at least three servings of the grain, maintain weight healthy throughout the years. So we must seek to meet all the above and we can do when choosing a brand that combines whole grains to consume it at breakfast, and two more servings for lunch or dinner, either with whole wheat bread , corn tortillas or brown rice.

It has also been found that whole grain is a real source of energy and nutrition it contains dietary fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, all in a single seed. A bonus of this food is that it contains phytosterols that help organic molecules do not absorb cholesterol.

You have trouble cooking the artichokes, and you never bite into an apple? Yet this is not complicated at all to return to a healthier diet, adding some fruits and vegetables to your diet. Here are some tips for introducing a bit of freshness in your menus gently!

Lack of time and ideas for eating fruits and vegetables? Here are some tips to reconnect with the pleasure and health.

The salad is perfect!

A simple solution that will make your meal more enjoyable, more nutritious and richer in flavor. And do not take refuge behind the lack of time: it is often sufficient to clean and cut vegetables, then add salad dressing (5 minutes, watch in hand).

In addition, you can easily vary with the seasons: autumn mushrooms, endive all winter and spring radishes in spring and summer. And remember the essential, available all year: cucumber , beets, tomatoes, lettuce.

Note that this is an asset to the line several studies have shown that eating raw vegetables as input has a satiating effect and reduces food intake over the rest of the meal (main course and dessert): The final swallowing less calories than if we had jumped the entrance!

Equip yourself

You feel that cooking fruits and vegetables takes time? And if it was simply a matter of equipment? Because with the right tools, you can halve the cooking time and preparation! Here are some essential kitchen.

* An economical. Or how to peel zucchini, potato and other pears in seconds and without spoiling. In addition, versions of “pro” emerged: the blade sliding-grip handle.
* A grater. To the grated carrots, sliced vegetables, sliced cucumber without tiring yourself, invest in a flat grater.
* A potato masher. Ok, it takes up space in the closet. But once we tasted the mash house, you can not do without.
* A pressure cooker. The alloy of all chefs who want the speed: To cook vegetables, you put a lot less time, without complicating life (a little water at the bottom, the vegetables in the basket and hop in minutes it’s ready!). For less organized, take a model with timer: No need to watch his shows.

Snack healthy

But this is not just during meals you can have the reflex fruit and vegetables! It’s a habit to take if you tend to nibble around the office, at home, in the streets, public transport. and everything that happens, cereal bars in packets of sweets. How to turn this vice into virtue? Snacking on fruit, for example! At home, invest in a basket of fruit. But be careful not to forget in a corner, until the fruit is inedible, put it prominently. Most people tend to put the trash on the fridge, which does not encourage its use! The best: the living room coffee table.

In all cases, choose fruit that you love and who have taste (feel free to ask for a little taste before you buy)! Ditto for the office, you can invest in a smaller basket (beware of colleagues who will peck!). And in the street, if you have not noticed, it’s not just bakeries! At every street corner, there are small grocers that offer fruits and vegetables. What prevents you to go buy her a banana or an apple instead of a chocolate bar?

And do not hesitate to ask your relatives and your parents some recipe ideas. As you will see that very often people are afraid to get into the vegetable mixture, then with a few simple tips, we realize that this is not so difficult.

Get the best fat burning supplement that really work!

3. What’s in these foods?
These foods contain:

- A pigment called lycopene and is considered by scientists as one of the most potent antioxidants identified today, being our main source of tomatoes in this phytochemical. Studies in Aviano cancer center, show that people who eat raw tomatoes at least 7 times a week reduced by 50% the risk of developing cancer of the stomach, bladder and colon.

- Betacyanins antioxidants that are very beneficial to the body and that we find among the plants like beet red and between red fruits such as pomegranates and cranberries.

All this can be found in the berries (cherry, strawberry, raspberry, etc.) and red apples.

- Beta-carotene with anticancer properties, as these have a protective effect against lung tumors, breast, uterus, and prostate coleorectal in addition to guard against solar radiation. This can be found in red peppers and strawberries.

- Flavonoids

Ultimately red foods help us to:

- To have better cardiovascular health.

5. Curiosities of these foods

- Raspberry contains insoluble fiber (5%) has diuretic and laxative effect as well as serving to cure rheumatism.

- The red pepper has a high concentration of antioxidants such as selenium, vitamin C and carotene.

- The tomato is given the name of its high concentration SuperCom lycopene.

- The fruit has more water than is the watermelon (95%), so it stimulates the kidneys to function efficiently, facilitating the elimination of toxins and waste.

- Cherry gives a cherry wine, which when distilled provides a delicious liqueur called kirsch. In addition, sour and sweet cherries are also preserved, if desired, in spirit.

- Strawberries due to its high content of salicylic acid may cause allergic reactions, these are manifested by urticaria and itching. Thus, people allergic to aspirin to strawberries usually are and vice versa.

- If you want to lose a few kilos without going hungry every time you want to snack between meals, eat an apple. Quench, brings energy and non-fattening.

- Red peppers provides over twice the vitamin C found in fruits such as oranges, strawberries or kiwi. In fact, 60 grams of peppers contain the recommended daily allowance of this vitamin.

6. Healthy Tips

- To maintain a balanced and healthy diet, you eat 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables a day.

- Vary the food and how to prepare it.

- One serving of vegetables (150-200 grams) is equivalent to a large tomato.

- One serving of fruit (120-200 grams) is equivalent to a medium piece of fruit (apple, orange, banana, pear ..), a cup of strawberries or a cup of cherries or a big slice of watermelon.

- When preparing raw tomatoes or juice, do not do well in advance, otherwise you will lose its nutritional properties (especially vitamin C).

Adequate food and proper food choices in everyday play an important role in the prevention of influenza A and any seasonal flu. Moreover, in case of contracting, helps to improve their symptoms and recover quickly.

A good diet can help prevent flu-like feeling. What is a good diet? You should consider the needs of the body, protein and caloric needs should strengthen some minerals commonly found away from what we consume daily. This power must be sufficiently harmonious and appropriate to the time course of the member of the family and provide all the nutrients for our immune system is protected against the threat of the virus.

We can find certain foods that help strengthen the immune system. They are those that contain vitamins and minerals, calcium-in all forms of consumption milk, yoghurt, desserts, seeds) daily intake should exceed 800 mg, and vitamin B complex and folic acid.

Has also been shown that foods such as garlic and onions contain allicin, an efficient antiviral, antibacterial and antioxidant that stimulates the immune system.

It is important to know that beyond that feeding during the period of the disease must be balanced, is much more important to a healthy diet daily, which is the best way to prevent. It is very important that every family is cared and protected with proper selection of fresh and rich in vitamins, minerals and proteins; trying to schedule the daily menu, ordering food intake, doing the 4 meals and, if possible, a snack midmorning or midafternoon. This, coupled with a good rest and the consumption of copious amounts of fluid are key recommendations to facilitate the proper functioning of our immune system.

Ultimately, treatment is based on prevention. Being healthy and well nourished brings therefore less impact on the symptoms of influenza. What to eat? Here are some clues to know where to find minerals, vitamins and protein.

Vitamin C is the best known antioxidant and is blamed for several immunological functions, can relieve flu symptoms, helps to preserve natural barriers against infection, increases the production of various substances such as interferon (a natural antiviral agent) and collagen. Where did you find? In citrus (orange, tangerine and grapefruit) the dark green leafy vegetables, kiwi, mango, pineapple, strawberries, and broccoli and cauliflower.

Vitamin E: it has been shown that repeated use of this vitamin increases the immune response. We found in wheat germ oil, soybean oil, olive oil, nuts (walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts).

Vitamin A is another ally, plays an essential role in infection and maintenance of the natural barriers against infection. It’s in the beef liver, butter, eggs, milk and its derivatives. Beta carotene is the precursor of vitamin A (from the plant kingdom) who after being ingested are converted into vitamin A, they are yellow vegetables such as cabbage or carrots and tomatoes.

But there’s more. They have been immune system disorders related to eating or not eating deficit B vitamins; The lack of this group can reduce the production of antibodies

The B complex is found both in the plant kingdom (green vegetables, nuts (walnuts or almonds and hazelnuts), cereals and legumes (lentils, beans and chickpeas) and in the animal kingdom (usually meat, offal, seafood)) The Vitamin B12 is found in liver, shellfish, red meat and fish.

Also important minerals. For example, iron deficiency is fairly common primarily within the more formal groups (children and pregnant women). The inadequate supply of this mineral leads to anemia, decreased cell proliferation and immune response.

The food source is the liver, red meat in general, offal, sausage, egg yolks and legumes, for its best use is essential to involve their folic acid intake.

Zinc: its deficiency causes alterations of the immune system in general risk groups (pregnant women, children, elderly, people with inadequate feeding practices) are to eat less of this mineral. We also saw that inhibits their use snuff. We found in seafood, seeds in general, legumes, nuts, eggs and dairy.

Selenium: its lack in the diet causes a decrease of bactericidal activity of antibodies. I incorporate eating meat in general, fish, seafood, cereals.

Besides all the foods mentioned, we must pay attention to dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt with probiotics and all derivatives) which are an important nutritional resource to prevent flu or combat in the event that has already been installed. A daily serving of each of our immune system favors

And finally we must not forget to drink fluids during the life-flu-and these may be in the form of water, fresh fruit juice or natural vegetable broths. The daily amount should be increased to 2 liters.
